That picture is me after working out for 30 minutes. February is my birthday month, and a listener gifted me a personal trainer from Future.co and “Coach Joe” has been designing workouts that leave me red-faced, sweaty, and sore the next day (and down about 5 lbs - get a free month here). Tonight I was doing a plank (I hate planks) and as I sat there hating life suspended off the ground by my toes and elbows, the next exercise wasn’t something different, no it was a different kind of plank. WHAT?! NO WAY. I could barely breathe and I had to do another 30 seconds of a plank????
You guessed it. I did it. It wasn’t easy, but that is how you grow. We grow by doing new things (often poorly, my form was a C+ at best) but you have to start somewhere.
I was watching the Hall of Fame Ceremony and Michael Butler was doing his speech talking about how he thought nobody would listen, and yet there he is, in the Hall of Fame. Michael isn’t putting anything on, he put the “I” in introvert, and feels awkward in public, and yet, there he was holding a Hall of Fame trophy.
The mind often tells you to stop when things start to hurt (that’s it job), and while I’m no “Coach Joe” (and you should always consult your doctor) I am finding I can do more than I thought I could.
And so can you.

Question of the Month
Some say it may be harder to grow an audience in 2024 than say 2019. The reason is people have enough podcasts to listen to, and if they found a new podcast they might have to remove one podcast from their current lineup of "regular" shows.
So what would happen in your case if you found a new show to follow? Are you:
Empty: And still looking for shows to listen to?
Full: You have your current stable of shows and never find yourself saying, "I need more podcasts"
Stuffed: You don't have enough time to listen to the shows you are subscribed to.
Feel free to elaborate on what would happen if you find a new show to follow.
Also, tell us a little bit about your show (your elevator pitch) and clearly say your name and website URL so I can add it to the show notes/description
I need your answer by February 23, 2024

It seems like everybody has somehow started using Book Like a Boss for scheduling interviews. I’m still using Tidycal (one-time fee)
Seth Godin talks about podcasting (Systems Thinking (E) episode) taking about podcasting. I loved his line, “I love the "it doesn't matter if it's short, it matters if it's good.”
Paul Colligan has put together a Podcast Guesting Manifesto that I can only say AMEN!
If you need a way to capture your screen for YouTube videos or training, Guidde (not a typo) caught my eye. There is also Guide Jar (aff) on App Summo for a one-time fee.
There are plenty of AI tools that edit video, but wisecut (aff) has a plan that starts at $10/month which may have me kicking the tires.
Tunereel is a resource for podcast music. They have high-quality-sounding music. When you go there it looks like you have to order a monthly fee. Click the PER TRACK option and they are only $5
I will be using that for a new show I’m starting called Your Podcast Website. (join the newsletter to help shape the content, and be notified when it goes live).
COMING SOON
My friend Gary Arndt from the Everything Everywhere Daily show got selected to be in Apple’s “New and Noteworthy” section. Did it do anything for his show? Follow the show and find out on Monday.
